Saturday, June 9, 2012 The Plainsboro Fire Company and the Plainsboro Police Department will be playing in a Charity Softball Game. The game takes place on Saturday June 9, 2012, 1830hrs at Community Park. The game is to benefit the David J. Bachner Fund, all money raised from the selling of concessions, raffles, and 50/50 go to this charity. Saturday, May 5, 2012 Rescue 49 responded into Hopewell Township on Saturday May 5th as part of TaskForce 801 to rescue a man trapped by a large boulder. The rescue took place at Baldpate Mountain Park in Hopewell. The incident happened when a man digging for artifacts in a 4 foot hole had a 200- 400 pound boulder fall onto his legs trapping him. The man was trapped for more than 2 hours while multiple rescue companies worked to free him. Once he was pulled from the hole, he was flown by State Police helicopter to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton for his leg injuries.
Wednesday, April 25, 2012 The fire company responded to 18 Hampshire Drive for a reported kitchen fire on Wednesday April 25th around noon. Ladder 49 arrived on location and confirmed a 2 1/2 story middle of the row townhouse with smoke showing. Due to the time of day a 1st alarm was transmitted to bring in additional apparatus and man power. A line was stretched and an aggressive attack was made to keep the fire from spreading further. Overhaul was started and a search for extension as well as any damage to the adjoining unit came up negative.
Saturday, April 14, 2012 Saturday April 14th started out as what would have seemed to be a quiet day. All of that came to an end when the first call of a motor vehicle accident at Schalks Crossing and Wyndhurst at 1540hrs. Then the 2nd call for mutual aid to Princeton on a brush fire at Cherry Hill Road 1712hrs. Then while the crew for the brush fire was making their way to Princeton a 3rd call for a R.I.T. crew came in for East Windsor at 1729hrs. This was due to a office building that was on fire and the initial response required an upgrade to bring more resources to the scene. Finally a 4th call came in for an elevator rescue at the Westin Hotel at 1832hrs.

Saturday, March 24, 2012 The Plainsboro Fire company participated in the World Trade Center Steel from NYC to Princeton NJ on Saturday March 24th. The steel will be used for a monument to commemorate the attacks over 10 years ago.
Thursday, March 8, 2012 Early Thursday morning, not long after members cleared from a fire alarm on College Road the tones went off for mutual aid assistance needed in East Windsor. Station 49 was requested as the RIT company for a structure fire on Etra Road and Milford Road. A crew responded in Rescue 49 and stood by in the event needed. The crew assisted with overhaul for the investigation. All photos used in this story are credited to Cindy Rashkin photographer for the East Windsor Station 46 fire company.
Thursday, March 1, 2012 The fire company was dispatched at approximately 0000hrs on Thursday morning for a vehicle into a pole. When PD arrived on scene they confirmed a single vehicle into a pole on its side. It was confirmed one patient still entrapped. The vehicle was stabilized and EMS worked with the fire company to get the patient extricated. The driver was transported to the hospital with non life threatening injuries. PSE&G was called to the scene to take care of the damaged pole. Units were on scene for an extended period of time while an investigation was conducted and the vehicle removed from the roadway. Dey Road from Scudders Mill Road to Scotts Corner Road was closed from 0000hrs and at the time of this article is still shut down. Units that responded, Deputy 49, Engine 49-1, Chief 49, Engine 49, Brush 49, Utility 49, Plainsboro EMS, and Plainsboro Police.
Sunday, February 26, 2012 Sunday morning February 26th the fire company was dispatched to a single vehicle accident on Plainsboro Road. When units arrived on scene they found a single vehicle into a utility pole. Extrication was not necessary to remove the patient from the vehicle. The patient was taken to the hospital to be checked out. PSE&G was called to the scene to replace the utility pole. Units that responded, Deputy 49, Engine 49-1, Ladder 49, Rescue 49, Plainsboro Rescue Squad and Plainsboro Police.
Saturday, February 4, 2012 A dumpster fire was reported on Saturday evening February 4th near bld. 45 Quail Ridge Dr. The 911 call came in around 1835 hours and when Deputy 49 arrived on location he reported a dumpster well involved no exposures. He advised first due Engine 49-1 to continue in emergency and all other units to respond non emergency. Units were on scence for a short time while fire was extinguished and overhaul completed. Responding units, Deputy 49, Engine 49-1, Engine 49, Rescue 49 and Plainsboro Police.
