Plainsboro Firefighters Planning 50th Anniversary Parade,
New Apparatus Dedication on September 26

PLAINSBORO – The Plainsboro Fire Company will celebrate its 50th Anniversary with a parade to the township’s municipal complex on Sunday, September 26.  The parade starts at 1pm and the festivities end at approximately 4pm.

A group of township residents came together to form the fire company in 1960. Prior to that, Plainsboro was protected by surrounding fire companies. Over the past five decades, the fire company has evolved from an organization that protected a rural farming community to one that protects a suburban township with a large business community.

As part of the anniversary, the fire company and the Board of Commissioners of Plainsboro Fire District No. 1 will also dedicate two new trucks – a 100’ tower ladder and a 2,000 gallon-per-minute rescue pumper.

The dedication will follow a parade featuring companies from surrounding communities and refreshments will be available. The rain date for the parade will be Sunday, October 3.
