House Fire Lovell Drive

Wednesday, August 3, 2011  Just before 4am on Wednesday August 3rd, the fire company was dispatched to a fire on a deck at 11 Lovell Drive.  Asst. 49 was on location within minutes of the initial dispatch, and confirmed heavy fire with extension to the house, and requested Mercer Central to fill the box.  Ladder 49 was the first apparatus on scene and was directed to back into the driveway and lead off with an 1 3/4 to the rear of the house.  Multiple hand-lines were in use and a good knock down of the exterior fire helped prevent a total loss of the house.  Crews did find extension into the living room but were able to quickly knock it down.  With the amount of fire encountered upon arrival the ladder and engine crew did a great job getting the upper hand on the fire.

RIT Assignment Hightstown

Monday, July 11, 2011  It was around 2300hrs on Monday evening when members of the Plainsboro Fire Company and Hightstown Fire Company had completed day 1 of Petzel training.  Just as things were wrapping up the tones went off for a working fire on Main Street in Hightstown.

Deputy 41 reported heavy smoke and fire on the second floor with possible entrapment. and immediately struck the 2nd alarm.   RIT 49 was requested to respond and a full crew was out the door on Rescue 49 moments later.  Tower 49 was sent to cover the Hightstown fire house, while Rescue 49 operated at the scene of the fire.  The crew setup on the "C" side of the building near Ladder 41 and stood by in the event they were needed.  It took about an hour for the fire to be brought under control and the first in units did a good job preventing further fire spread to adjacent buildings.  Eventually the RIT team was able to stand down and assisted with salvage and overhaul.

In Loving Memory Of Jeff Pryor

Friday, May 20, 2011   It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Life Member and firefighter Jeff Pryor.  He was an outstanding member of the Plainsboro Fire Company and served the community for over 30 years.  Most people will remember Jeff as someone who always had a smile on his face and had a heart as big as gold.  His love and passion was with the fire service and he was always willing to lend a hand to anyone that needed it.  He was a person you could count on, and will be deeply missed by everyone that knew him.  Our thoughts and prayers are with the Pryor family during their time of grief.

The wake will be Tuesday night 5-24 from 6pm-8pm at the firehouse.  On Wednesday 5-25 the funeral will take place at the firehouse at 10:30 a.m.
